Our Story
In 2008, my family and I decided to adopt our first dog—a one-year-old Bichon Terrier mix named Matty. From the moment he joined us, he filled our lives with joy and companionship.
In 2023, we faced the heartbreak of saying goodbye as Matty crossed the Rainbow Bridge. His memory continues to live on in our hearts. Matty was not just a pet; he was the catalyst for Bone and Bed and an irreplaceable member of our family.
Though he is no longer with us, the love and lessons he brought will stay with us forever. Thank you, Matty, for being our first furry friend and for the beautiful memories we shared.
In 2012, we welcomed Beatrice, an English Springer Spaniel mix, into our home. She quickly became a cherished part of our family.
From 2014 to 2016, I volunteered at Peaceable Kingdom, a local animal shelter. Through cleaning kennels and walking dogs, I discovered the power of fostering. Each dog taught me the value of communication—understanding their body language and building trust.
In 2020, we fostered and adopted King, an American Pitbull/Cane Corso mix, whose playful spirit brought joy to our lives. In 2021, we welcomed Roo, a lively lab mix. Together, they’ve shown me that clear communication strengthens our bonds.
Fostering has deepened my love for dogs and taught me invaluable lessons. If you’re considering fostering, I encourage you to take the leap—it’s a journey full of love and connection.
